Use a garment bag when possible to minimize wrinkles. Place the jacket on a hanger, button the top button, fold the trousers along their crease, and keep the suit in a spacious compartment where it will not be crushed.
Turn one shoulder of the jacket inside out, tuck the other shoulder into it, and fold the jacket vertically with the lining facing outward. This method helps protect the structure of the shoulders and reduce creasing.
Align the trouser legs along their natural crease, fold them once or twice, and place them on top of heavier items rather than underneath them. Packing trousers inside a dry-cleaning bag can also help reduce friction and wrinkles.
A garment bag is ideal for keeping a suit hanging and ready to wear, especially when traveling by car or plane. A suitcase can work well when you need to pack compactly, provided the suit is folded carefully and placed near the top.
Remove the suit from your luggage as soon as you arrive, hang each piece on a sturdy hanger, and let it air out. For light wrinkles, hang the suit in a steamy bathroom or use a garment steamer while following the care instructions.
