| When to Dry Clean Your Suit? When to dry clean a suit The answer is probably less often than youd think. Dry cleaning is hard on a suit and too frequent trips to the dry cleaners can significantly shorten the lifespan of your suit by weakening the fibers, leading to shiny spots or a prematurely worn appearance. If the suit is stained (and cant be spot cleaned), smells or if it has been worn regularly (once a week or so) and not cleaned for more than six months, then your suit probably needs to be cleaned. If its just rumpled and in need to pressing, then bring it in to any Mens Wearhouse store to take advantage of our free pressing service. Choosing a dry cleaner While convenience is obviously a great selling point when selecting a dry cleaner, also know that you often get what you pay for. A dry cleaner with prices that seem too good to be true may be reusing the dry cleaning solution more than is prudent (which leads to inefficient cleaning and that weird chemical-y smell on your clothing). And a truly top-notch dry cleaner will be performing little extras like wrapping the buttons in foil prior to cleaning (to protect them against damage) and hand finishing the pressing to ensure that collars aren't flattened and the like. But it may also cost you up $40 to get a suit cleaned. Free pressing at Men's Wearhouse One of the great things about buying a suit at Men's Wearhouse is the free pressing service offered. And by avoiding unnecessary dry cleaning, your suits will last longer and look better. To take advantage of this service, sign up for our Perfect Fit program (it's free!), then simply drop by any Men's Wearhouse location (it doesn't have to be the one where you purchased your suit) and let them know that you'd like your suit pressed. They can usually take care of it while you wait, and your suit will be looking like new before you know it. |
